Sullivan County Community College (SCCC) announces its summer 2008 Elderhostel® schedule featuring more than 15 educational programs on subjects ranging from world history to Jewish culture to ballroom dancing. SCCC provides a variety of community services and cultural offerings throughout the year, including life-long learning opportunities such as Elderhostel. This summer marks the college’s 18th year working with Elderhostel, the world’s largest, not-for-profit educational travel organization for adults ages 55 and over.The college’s first program of the season is also one of its most popular. “World Crises Today, The Constitution & The Presidency, and Historical Markers of the 20th Century” (program number 15134) is scheduled to run July 20–25. The second program – “Cavalcade of Jewish Music and History, Great Jewish Love Stories, and Psychology of Dreams” (program number 15130) – will be held June 22-27. Scheduled for the same dates is “Exercising and Expanding Your Mind, The Joy of Dancing, and Bridge: Tips and Competitive Play” (program number 15129). Elderhostel programs typically run five nights/six days. Program rates vary and include classroom lectures and field trips, meals and accommodations. Accommodations will be provided by the Fallsview Best 5 Resort & Spa in Ellenville. Reduced rates are available for those living locally and interested in attending as a commuter. Kenoza Lake Assembly of God, located at 418 Mueller Road, Kenoza Lake, NY offers Sunday School for both children and adults beginning at 10 a.m. followed by a worship service at 11 a.m. Two separate buildings are available.
